I wrote an article the other day and submitted to Ezinearticles on if children should have a Nitro RC Car for themselves without adult supervision.
There are a couple of ways to look at it to make your decision which boil down to safety.
1. Nitro Fuel is a combustable substance and although when in a Nitro model it is more or less safe, you never know if the car may have a fault and catch fire. THis is obviously very dangerous to anyone so worth taking into consideration.
2. THe Nitro fuel as with the above point could spill onto the groud and become slipperly or get onto childrens hands which can be dangerous is it got into the mouth.
3. A Nitro CAr goes extreamly fast and if it was to hit an obstacle, could easily flip over and hit a child.
Nether the less, any sport is dangerous which includes football which most kids all play so it all depends on which way you look at it. If I was a parent, id not want my children playing with RC Cars unless they were the basic electric variety but its a matter of opinion.
Either way, the cars available to buy are very well designed, excellent and safe. Its just down to common sense most of the time so down to the parent but please do be careful. Then again, jumping on a trampoline in the garden is much more dangerous but an every day thing in the UK and many other countries during the summer months.
Eitehr way , have fun and be safe
